About Me

Erin has two children, three cats, and four college degrees. She’s probably the only person you know who has college credits in the study of Star Trek. Erin is a certified teacher but she accidentally got a job in technical writing while waiting for her certificate to arrive in the mail.

From 2004 to 2018, Erin helped manage the Fairwood Writers Workshop at Norwescon (and at several Westercons) and was an instructor at the MoPOP! Write Out of This World spec fic workshop for kids and teens. She is a graduate of Viable Paradise and Pitch Wars, both of which she highly recommends.

Her first professional fiction publication appeared in print when her youngest child was six weeks old. She’s still sorry she wasn’t paid in minutes of sleep.

As a professional technical writer, Erin writes user interface text, system messaging, conceptual and instructional documentation, API reference documentation, engaging curriculum for administrators and end users, and official Tweets for the largest software company you’ve probably never heard of. Her curriculum has received Excellence Awards and Merit Awards from the Northern California Society for Technical Communication.
